—I wanted to write a blog about these lyrics, but the song really speaks for itself. It’s progressive from beginning to end and shows the inward struggles we face from day to day, particularly from a Christian standpoint.

We often feel weak and lost. Sometimes, we don’t even trust ourselves. But when you consider what life is all about, you realize that we are merely bodies; however, we have these souls that want to thrive. “Where you invest your love, you invest your life.” That line alone gives me chills. Love is literally a lifetime investment. So, the song says “Awake my soul”. Let my soul live and love.

Finally, the most beautiful line says, “You were made to meet your maker.” He made us to meet us. I’ve probably said something about this line before, but it has really registered with me. In those moments when I feel lost, insecure, or worried, those words breathe life back into my fickle heart and woozy eyes. “You were made to meet your maker.” He wants to meet me. Awake my soul so that I may meet Him. Combine these beautiful lyrics with topnotch instrumentals and Marcus Mumford’s intense lead vocals, your soul will awaken.
